Sold my Accord to 800Sayara last week - here's how it actually went
Thought I'd share my experience since I was really nervous about using one of these instant car buying services. I had a 2017 Honda Accord that I needed to sell fast before moving to Abu Dhabi, and the thought of dealing with test drives and lowballers on Dubizzle made me want to cry. I filled out the online form for a few different companies but ended up going with 800Sayara because their phone guy was actually helpful and didn't sound like a robot reading a script. They gave me a quote over the phone based on the details I provided, which was about 8% lower than what I hoped for but still reasonable. The inspector showed up the next day within the promised two hour window, spent about 25 minutes checking the car started it, looked at the service history, drove it around the block, checked for any leaks or accident damage. He pointed out a scratch on the rear bumper I hadn't even mentioned and said they'd need to adjust the offer by 600 dirhams. I agreed because honestly the scratch was my fault anyway. We signed some paperwork on his tablet, he transferred the money to my account within an hour, and a tow truck came two hours later to pick up the car. Total time from inspection to money in my account was about three hours. No haggling, no last minute surprises. Would I have gotten more selling privately? Probably, yeah, maybe 2-3k more. But for the convenience and zero stress? Totally worth it. Just be honest about your car's condition when you get the initial quote so the adjustment isn't huge. Happy to answer any questions if someone's on the fence.
